FAQ

What happens once I have booked?

We will send you a confirmation email with your booking. In that email we will send you some further details of the timings and how your day with us will go. Feel free to contact us with any questions before your trip. A day before your activity, we will send an email confirming your pick up time and any changes in weather so you can prepare accordingly. You can also opt in for an SMS update when you book.

Any changes to your stay in Cornwall or with your group, please contact us immediately.

What happens if the weather isn’t good?

Cornish weather is extremely changeable and there is a chance that the weather could become difficult – this could mean rain, wind, mist or extreme heat.

We will do our activities even in these conditions – it’s a hardy county and it will still be a great day out even with a bit of weather. We will only cancel the activity if conditions become dangerous. You will be notified of any changes or problems the day before when we contact you with final information.

Read our Health and Safety Policy and please ensure you understand our Cancellation terms and conditions

What happens if you / we have to cancel?

If NWA have to cancel

We will only cancel if the weather means it is unsafe to continue the activity. Should this occur, guests will be offered an alternative date. If this date isn’t possible then a full refund will be provided.

Please note that the activities will continue even if the weather is typical for Cornwall: rainy or a little bit windy. Should you decide that you don’t want to do the activity in those conditions, then cancellation policy will be as below.

If YOU have to cancel

All cancellations must be advised by email from the person who originally made the booking.

In order that we can re-advertise, we require a minimum of two weeks notice to cancel .

If the cancellation is two weeks before the event a full refund will be given. However, guests will be charged in full for any cancellations within 14 days of the activity.

Where possible, we will endeavour to re book the group onto an activity if that is their request.

What will we see?

Our activities will show you the wildlife of Newquay – that means we cant guarantee what you will see! However, we will take you to the best places that we know of to see a range of birds, insects and marine species including seals and rockpool critters. There is always a chance to see dolphins and whales off the coast so always keep your eye out! The guides are experts and know the best places to spot a range of species and they will have binoculars and long lenses so will be on the lookout throughout your trip. If there is any specific species you have always wanted to see – makes sure you chat with the guide.

What should I bring?

Good shoes are a must. Sturdy shoes for both activities and even wetsuit boots for the rockpools if you have them. Layers as the weather can be changeable plus waterproofs! A hat is a good idea in the sunshine and in the cold. Bring binoculars if you have them – we will bring ID guides and a range of information and refreshments will be provided although you may want to bring extra water.

Can I bring my dog?

Cornwall is extremely dog friendly and we also have dogs so we love them. However, we suggest that dogs shouldn’t join the activities. They could disturb the wildlife we are trying to find and as it gets busy on our coastline, there is a chance dogs may be quite a distraction to you during your time with us. However, we are happy to discuss dogs on a case by case basis so if you really want your dog to join, then contact us and let us know how good they are on leads, on beaches and with groups of people on headlands.

How does the pick up service work?

We offer a pick up and drop off service from your accomodation. When you book, let us know where you are staying and we will confirm your pick up time the night before your activity. This is available to anyone staying in the wider Newquay area.

Can I book if I am not staying in / living in Newquay?

Yes of course! However, we ask that you come into Newquay as we cant do pick ups from accommodation further afield. We suggest driving to one of the main car parks (Tregunnel Car Park is a good option) where we can pick you up from  so you dont have to drive around town. We will be in touch the night before to confirm where to go for the car park and what time we will meet you.
